The female crash facility is open every night of the year from 9pm until 8am and is used by women with multiple and complex problems that include homelessness, substance misuse and mental ill health.
The women are also often offenders and known to the criminal justice agencies, they tend to live chaotic lives and this often manifests in very challenging behaviours.
Due to the pressures on bed space, the Crisis increased its capacity from 5 beds to 8 beds and 2 respite settees.
155 women used the Crisis between April 2018 and March 2019.
The Crisis is a potentially life-saving service for women who would potentially overwise spend the night on the streets.
