Floating Support Worker

Job Title: Floating Support Worker
Location: Belfast (community-based)
Salary: Commencing £10,233
Hours: 15 hours per week

About the Organisation
The Welcome Organisation supports people across Belfast at all stages of homelessness, from street outreach and drop-in services to accommodation and floating support. Our Floating Support service helps up to 100 people sustain their tenancies after moving into their own homes.

About the Role
We’re recruiting a part-time Floating Support Worker to join our team. You’ll provide housing-related support to individuals with complex needs, helping them maintain their tenancies and live independently. This is a community-based role involving home visits and lone working, with staff working flexibly to meet service user needs.

About You
You’ll have experience supporting people with complex needs in a psychologically informed environment, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships. You’ll understand the challenges faced by people who are homeless or vulnerably housed and have the skills to provide effective, practical support.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends

  • Access to your own transport with business insurance (mileage and expenses paid)

  • Confidence working independently, with appropriate risk management in place

Support Worker - Support Hub

Job Title: Support Worker – Support Hub
Location: Support Hub, 2 Victoria Street, Belfast
Salary: Commencing £25,584
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Full-time (Permanent & 12-month maternity cover available)

 

About the Service
The Welcome Organisation’s Support Hub operates from 2 Victoria Street, Belfast and is open 8am–6pm, 365 days a year. The Hub provides essential, low-threshold support for people who are homeless or newly homeless, including food, clothing, washing facilities, advice and signposting to Northern Ireland Housing Executive Homeless Services.

 

About the Role
We’re recruiting full-time Support Workers to join our busy drop-in service. You’ll play a key role in supporting people who may also be experiencing additional challenges such as trauma, eviction, substance misuse, addiction, care experience or returning to the community after custody.

The service operates a high-tolerance, low-threshold approach, supporting individuals to make informed choices based on their needs and aspirations. Full-time staff typically work 4 x 10-hour shifts across Monday–Sunday.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals who can work constructively with service users in a fast-paced environment and are motivated to help people access the support they need.

Bank Support Worker

Job Title: Bank Support Worker
Location: Various services across Belfast
Salary: £13.12–£13.56 per hour (+ 12.07% holiday pay, paid quarterly)
Hours: Flexible, depending on service needs

The Welcome Organisation supports people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, many of whom are affected by poor physical and mental health, addiction, abuse and trauma. We operate a high-tolerance, low-threshold approach, enabling people to make informed choices through accessible and innovative services.

About the Role
We’re looking for passionate and reliable individuals to join our Bank Support Worker team. This flexible role supports a range of services across the organisation, including:

  • Assertive Street Outreach

  • Support Hub

  • Women’s Emergency Accommodation

  • Women’s Supported Accommodation

  • Catherine House

  • Floating Support

 

You’ll work alongside experienced staff, providing practical and emotional support to people with a range of complex needs. Full training and support will be provided.

About You
You’ll share our ethos of acceptance and inclusion, with a commitment to supporting marginalised people. Previous experience (paid or voluntary) is desirable but not essential - a willingness to learn and a positive, flexible approach are key.
