We are delighted to announce the re-opening of our Drop-in Centre after its closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Drop-in is open from 8am – 6pm, 7 days a week and will continue to provide its life-saving support services for people affected by homelessness including those presenting as homeless for the first time.
Since March our Drop-in has been operating as a mobile service – bringing vital support out to the most vulnerable people in our communities.
We deliver around 100 meals per day to homeless people who have been temporarily housed and food packs each week to vulnerable individuals with cooking facilities but no money for food. Our laundry service has been made available to anyone without a washing machine.
Most importantly, support work in the areas of benefit/welfare, physical and mental health issues and addiction support is ongoing and we are in daily contact with all of our vulnerable clients.
We will continue to provide these services out in the community while attending to those who need to come into the Drop-in for immediate support and respite. This mix of onsite and offsite delivery together with shorter opening times, will enable us to operate the Drop-in service safely and within social distancing guidelines while at the same time, meeting the needs of all the individuals affected by homelessness that require our services.
Our female accommodation facility continues to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Floating Support services are supporting people to maintain their tenancies and our Outreach teams are working to full capacity – we now have 2 vans out on the streets to cope with demand.
As ever, we would like to say a huge thanks to the public for all their support. We could not provide the services we do without you.
