The Welcome Organisation was delighted to be part of the Belfast Pride parade for the first time on Saturday!
It was an opportunity for Welcome to support equality and to raise awareness around LGBT homelessness.
Research shows that 24% of homeless young people in the UK identify as LGBT and 77% believe that coming out to their parents was a main factor (https://www.akt.org.uk/).
In the Republic of Ireland homelessness charity Focus Ireland and LGBT youth organisation BeLonG To have commissioned a study on LGBTQI+ Youth Homelessness in Ireland. Read more here:
