FUNDRAISING IDEAS
However you choose to support us - at home, with friends, at work, or out in the community - we appreciate all the ways you get involved!
Need a little inspiration? Check out these fundraising ideas to get started!
Fundraising at Home
-
Host a Coffee Morning or Dinner Party for Donations - Gather your friends and family for a themed meal at home and asks guests to donate what they would have spent going out.
-
Birthday Fundraiser - instead of a birthday present, ask friends and family to donate to your Welcome Fundraising page or through a Facebook Birthday Fundraiser!
-
Closet Cleanout - clear out your space by selling clothes, household items, and gadgets on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or Vinted and donate the profit to The Welcome!
-
EasyFundraising - sign up with EasyFundraising and watch as your favourite brands donate to The Welcome Organisation as you shop with them!
-
Raise some Dough with Krispy Kreme - purchase dozens of Krispy Kreme's legendary glazed doughnuts for 50% off and resale them at full price to raise money for The Welcome Organisation! A charity number (see below) is required for 50% off purchase.
-
Personal Challenge - Skydive up to 15,000ft at Skydive Ireland, sign up for a marathon (or a half), set a steps-per-day goal, do something that scares you, or give something up - no matter the challenge, get sponsored to test yourself and raise money for the Welcome!

Fundraising at Work
-
Pay to Park - Have your employers charge employees £1 to park per day. All proceeds at the end of the year will be donated to The Welcome!
-
Bake Sale or Bake Off - Ask your colleagues to bake treats for donations, or challenge them to a Bake Off, where the office staff will place their votes by donating cash!
-
Dress Down Day - Make a donation to wear casual clothes or fancy dress on a chosen day!
-
Pay to Play - Challenge your co-workers to guess how many sweets in a jar, baby photo matching, or 'guess the pet owner' games for donations.
-
'Buzzword' Jar - like a swear jar, choose a few words from your bank of overused office jargon and charge your colleagues a pound every time you catch them saying one!
-
Raffle Off Your Skills - Have your colleagues offer up their skills (i.e., dog-walking, baking, painting, language lessons) for an office raffle.
-
Matching Scheme - Ask leadership if they'll match employee donations to double the impact!
-
Charity Day Takeover - Choose a theme (Decade Day, Sports Team, Pajama Day) and build your fundraising around it!
Fundraising in the Community
-
Join The Welcome Organisation's Volunteer Fundraising Committee - Join a group of like-minded individuals within the Belfast community to plan and execute one community-based fundraiser a year. Interested? Email elizabethalexander@welcomeorganisation.org.

Donation Jar - Ask permission to place donation jars in local cafes and shops of people you know personally.
